Gabriel Chiu DO is a specialized reconstructive and plastic surgeon who transforms patients' lives. Dr. Chiu earned his degree from the University of California Berkeley in Immunology and Microbiology. Afterwards, he attended the Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California and completed medical school.
Dr. Gabriel Chiu underwent an internship at the Henry Ford Health System at Bi-County Community Hospital. He moved to Detroit, Michigan to take his general surgery residency in the St. John's Health System located there. While he was in training, Dr. Chiu transferred to Cleveland, Ohio to work in the Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital. It was at this hospital that Gabriel was chosen to be the Chief Resident in General Surgery.
Once residency was complete, Dr. Chiu started an exciting fellowship in reconstructive and plastic surgery. This residency was at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. While attending this hospital, Dr. Chiu explored all facets of plastic surgery including: craniofacial, pediatric, hand, microvascular, burn, cosmetic, trauma and reconstructive surgeries.
During this residency, Gabriel was chosen as Chief Fellow of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This enabled him to oversee a variety of training completed by oromaxillary facial residents, general surgery residents and plastic surgery fellows. He additionally oversaw medical students from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Hahnemann University Hospital students in Philadelphia, Westchester Medical Center students in Valhalla, NY, St. Mary's Medical Center students located in Langhorn, PA and students training at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
Upon enthusiastically finishing his studies in reconstructive and plastic surgery, Dr. Chiu came home to California. He currently practices in Beverly Hills and Encino at his own clinic; Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Inc.
